Have had a bunch of people ask me when I am going to put this truck on racingjunk and try to sell it, so here it is. You will not find a more versatile vehicle on here than this one. You can run a variety of .90 classes, bracket race (top or bottom bulb), or drive it on the street LEGALLY, depending on your state. Everything is done right on this truck. No money has been spared on any part of it. Lengthy description so bare with me. Do not want to miss anything.Above Added: Mon May 12, 2008, 8:26 am EST
Here are the particulars.
TRUCK:
CHASSIS: 1993 S-10 short bed. Graschel Fabrication full 2x3 tube chassis. Mustang II style front end. Have brand new 2 inch dropped spindle kit to be installed that will go with truck if not sold before hand (see other ad). Coil over rear with ladder bars, 8 3/4 rear end with 4.30 spool and mosher axles. 5/8 wheel studs. Wilwood brakes all around. New Alumastar 1 piece front wheels with MT 27 x 15. Large rear fuel cell for street driving with rear mounted battery and mount for nitrous bottle. Truck is completely wired for nitrous including wiring for bottle heater. Clean aluminum rear torneau cover with flip up access to fuel cell and rear wing. Removeable rear parachute and mount. Truck is all steal with the exception of the hood which has a cowl induction scoop making it very easy to see out of. Two complete Holley fuel systems, one for motor, one for nitrous. Motor system has black pump and nitrous has blue pump and both have in-line shut off valves.
INTERIOR:
All clean aluminum interior with two Kirkey racing seats on quick pin release for easy removal. Removeable transmission tunnel with Dzus fasteners. Roll down windows with original glass windshield and side windows. Lexan rear window due to roll bar extensions to rear frame. Full aluminum dash with all the guages you need and all work. Has speedometer with digital odometer, tach, vacuum guage, 2 fuel pressure guages (one regular and one for nitrous), oil pressure and tempurature, water temperature. Everything you need. Full rubber rocker switches switch panel with everything for nitrous arming already wired. Over $4000 spent on wiring truck alone (have receipts). Biondo delay box/throttle stop timer on quick release plug for easy disconnect for bottom bulb racing. Shiftnoid electric shifter. MSD 7AL3 ignition box. Brand new M and R cam lock belts and mesh window net. Large rear view mirror that you can see EVERYTHING in. Makes it very nice for if/when someone is chasing you. Cage is currently IHRA 8.50 certified. Will pass NHRA, just havent had a chance to get to an NHRA certification site. New weight box mounted behind cab that weighs 45 pounds and currently holds 200+ pounds of ballast. Tail gate also has area for ballast. Currently roughly 100 pounds in there.
MOTOR:
408 cubic inch 18 deg small block Chevy. GM Bowtie block with Oliver splayed caps. Callies crankshaft chromed and performance coated. Oliver 6.125 billet rods. Bill Miller coated gas ported pistons with low tension rings. ATI super damper with MSD crank trigger setup. Jesel belt drive system and shaft rocker system. Comp Cams 754 lift roller camshaft. Isky Red Zone lifters. Titanium intake and exhaust valves with K-motion k1000h valve springs. Heads are Brodix 18 degree heads with extensive port work and GM bowtie intake which has been cut and welded in 4500 spacer with porting to match the heads. 1050 Dominator carb. Canton Performance starter. Jeff Johnston Billet Specialties oil pan with baffel ball option included. Titan Pro-Series billet oil pump. Moroso fabricated valve covers. Star Machine vacuum pump system with crank mandrel. Meziere water pump. Brand new #1 Stop electric plate throttle stop with 13 throttle stop runs on it. Custom large tube headers built specifically for this truck completely coated. New engine diaper. MSD crank trigger distributor and new 8 mm plug wires. All hoses are braided lines. No rubber. Large Mahaffey aluminum radiator with electric fan setup. Motor made 742 horse power on a tight dyno that is usually about 6% less horsepower than other dynos same motors. Motor previously dynoed 832 horse on a different dyno with slightly more compression. This is at only 32 degrees of timing and turning 7500 rpms. Compression is roughly 13.9 to 1. This motor has been mid-high 7-second times in a 4-link dragster when it was a 15.0 to 1 compression. We recently changed to thicker head gaskets when freshened. Motor only has 13 runs on recent freshen-up.
TRANSMISSION:
ATI Supercase SFI tagged powerglide transmission from Prince Racing Transmissions in New Hampshire. 1.80 straight cut gear set, large clutch pack, pro-tree brake, all the best parts. Trans-Specialties converter. Transmission has 30 runs since brand new. No expense spared. Almost a $5000 setup with the trans and converter.
PERFORMANCE:
I have only put 13 runs on the truck this year with the current setup. With over 300 pounds of ballast in the truck and a 170 pound driver, the truck weighs in at 2840. Leaving at 4400 and shifting at 7500 the truck went 9.36 at 145+ with a 1.36 60-foot time due to the 4.30 rear gear and 94 degree heat and over 2200 feet of adjusted altitude. On the throttle stop the truck went 10.903 at 140 in those same conditions with a timer setup of .50/2.37. The following weekend with a timer setup of around .50/2.75 in 65 degree weather the truck went 10.901, 10.889, 10.910 all at over 141 mph all on DOT stamped tires. The truck has time slips from previous owner last year where it went 8.70s in good air with less weight and the thinner head gaskets. If you dump the weight out of it right now, it will easily be a high 8 second truck. If you wanted to get ambitious and put the thinner head gaskets back on and change the rear gear to a more race setup its hard telling how fast it would go. PLUS, its still wired for nitrous even though there is not any on the truck at this time. Plug in your system and go from there and run some fast street class or leave the nitrous off and run 8.90, 9.90 or 10.90. Heck, if your track has an 11.90 class this thing went 11.92 at 142 even.
MISCELLANEOUS:
This truck comes with 2 complete exhaust systems, one for race and one for street setup. Everything coated. All of the roll bar and frame on the truck is painted to match the exterior of the truck. All lettering/contingency stickers are vinyl and easily removeable. The truck was licensed and inspected in New Hampshire in 2006/2007. All the blinkers, headlights, tail lights, speedometer, windows, etc. all work. Headlights/turn signals are on quick disconnects for removing front nose if you need to. Very comfortable truck to drive. No shakes/vibrations of any sort.
Have piles of receipts on this truck for the parts that are on it that will verify the cost of everything on it. Asking $30,000 and will throw in all the racing fuel and other miscellaneous stuff I have that goes with the truck. Would consider making package deal on motorhome, trailer and racetruck (see other ads) if interested in picking up everything and heading right to the track or pick it up right at the track and race that day. Drive it all away if you want.
This is a great vehicle and don't really want to sell, but am looking at doing some older car restorations and could use the cash. Not a "must sell" situation however. Email with any questions that you have. Will answer quickly.
